HLA-B27 Positive Spondylitis Study (AS, Axial SpA, PsA)

🦴 About the Study

We are conducting a research study to better understand spondylitis and related inflammatory arthritis conditions, including:

  • Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) 
  • Axial Spondyloarthritis 
  • Psoriatic Arthritis 
  • Reactive Arthritis 
  • IBD-related Arthritis 

This study focuses on individuals who are HLA-B27 positive, a genetic marker commonly associated with these conditions.

By collecting blood and joint (synovial) fluid samples, researchers aim to better understand disease activity, inflammation, and potential future treatments.

👥 Who Can Participate?

We are currently looking for individuals who:

  • Are 18 to 85 years old 
  • Have a confirmed diagnosis of spondylitis or a related condition (listed above) 
  • Are HLA-B27 positive 
  • Can provide a valid, government-issued photo ID 
  • Are willing to review and sign an informed consent form 
  • Can provide medical records confirming diagnosis 

Preferred (but not required):

  • Diagnosed within the last 12 months 
  • Not currently on long-term steroid or biologic therapy

🏥 What’s Involved?

f you qualify and choose to participate, your visit may include:

  • Medical history review and diagnosis confirmation 
  • Informed consent process (with time for questions) 
  • Blood draw 
  • Joint (synovial) fluid collection performed by a trained physician 

All procedures are performed by experienced medical professionals in a controlled clinical setting.

Participants may receive compensation for their time and travel.
