Rheumatoid Arthritis & Osteoarthritis Biospecimen Study

🦴 About the Study

We are conducting a research study to better understand Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and Osteoarthritis (OA) by collecting small samples of blood and joint (synovial) fluid from adults living with these conditions.

These samples help researchers study inflammation, joint damage, and potential future treatments for people with arthritis.

👥 Who Can Participate?

We are currently looking for:

  • Adults 18 to 85 years old
  • Diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) or Osteoarthritis (OA)
  • Able to provide a valid, government-issued photo ID
  • Willing to review and sign an informed consent form

You may not qualify if you:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding (in most cases)
  • Have certain serious medical conditions that make blood draws unsafe (such as severe heart disease, bleeding disorders, severe kidney disease, or severe anemia)
  • Recently received blood products or donated a large amount of blood
  • Have certain active infections (such as HIV, hepatitis, MRSA, or tuberculosis)

Our team will review your medical history to confirm whether it’s safe and appropriate for you to take part.

🏥 What’s Involved?

If you qualify and decide to participate, your visit may include:

  • Blood draw
  • Joint (synovial) fluid collection
  • Study visit:
    • Review of your medical history and diagnosis (RA or OA)
